He has been serving in the Academic and Healthcare Industry for the past 35 years in the international arena and has reached out to the lowest strata of the deprived population in the community through his Healthcare Services. He has achieved unique targeted goals and has been bestowed upon many awards during his services by local and international organizations.
He is the current President for MK Educational Trust and President and CEO for Medlife Medical Facility of Healthcare Organization, Michigan US. Formerly, he has served as Rehabilitation Program Director -TPM, Medilodge of Southfield Nursing Facility, Southfield, Michigan, Rehabilitation Program Director – TPM, Greenfield Rehab & Nursing Center, Royal Oak, Michigan, Rehabilitation Program Director – TPM, Southgate Manor Skilled Nursing Facility, Southgate, Michigan, Clinical Manager and Pain Management Chief Therapist, Modern Rehabilitation & Pain Management Center, Warren, Michigan.

Dr Elena Plavnik-Stybel has joined the Bay University from its inception in the Department of Physiology. She teaches Human Physiology as the major subjects at this university. She was accepted into the Medical Degree Program at Leningrad Pediatric Medical University and graduated with honors in 1990. Dr Stybel was born and raised in Leningrad, Russia. She immigrated to the US in 1991. She was accepted in NYCOM in 1997 and 3 years later she graduated with a degree of Doctor of Osteopathy .She went through the Residency Program in North Shore LIJ on Long Island NY and since then has been working in a private practice in Amityville, New York. She has keen interest in Cardiac and Respiratory Physiology.

Further he has authored three books on Specific Learning Disabilities. He is known for his National and international reputation In the academic field. He has made significant contributions in the field of psychology with more than 40 empirical research papers. He has trained more than 10000 students in specific learning disabilities, counseling and psychotherapy, psychological assessments and cognitive behavior therapy. He has provided counseling and psychotherapy for more than one lakh clients with varied mental illnesses and disabilities during his 40 years of experience.

Dr Shankhar Majhi, an Alumni of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) Puducherry in South Indian has been at helm to lead the Academia in the last 29 years of his professional career. After obtaining his MD degree in Biochemistry through the Residency Program in 1994, he went on to complete his Senior Residency that prepared him to join faculty positions elsewhere.

On the invitation of the Principal of Nepal Medical College in 1997, he joined this Kathmandu-based Medical College as a Founder Member of the Faculty of Biochemistry as Assistant Professor and was directly responsible for overall academic growth of the institution. Dr Majhi stood upto the expectation and used this platform to train the motivated students to prepare USMLE, as a result many alumni of this medical college work as Physicians and Surgeons in US now. He believed Innovative Research is integral part of the Higher Education and work as an editor for a medical journal known as Nepal Medical College Journal’ ‘NMCJ’ which is the First Nepalese Medical Journal to be indexed in ‘pubmed’ then and is visualized as a major event in growth of the Medical Sciences in Nepal. Dr Majhi’s contribution as an editor, is considered as a milestone that brought the scientific exploration to the forefront in Medicine in the Himalayan state. In 2002, he was invited to join B P Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) Dharan as Associate Professor and was promoted to full professor later where he developed the Post Graduate Program in particular beside the Under-Graduate Program in Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Laboratory Technology. He also worked for Problem Based Learning (PBL) in various capacities to make the successful outcome of the SPICES model of curriculum adopted by the university.

He believed that Clinical Laboratory are crucial for Healthcare and must be accredited for best patient outcome. He took initiative to upgrade the ‘Clinical Laboratory’ and got his Laboratory accredited by the Accrediting Agency while he was assigned additional responsibility as ‘Chief of Clinical Laboratory Services’. Among four pillars of a university, Researches and Publications are major work that drive the university forward and with this perception, he conducted extensive research on Trace Element and Cancers, Free Radical Chemistry, Thyroid Disorders, Diabetes Mellitus, Cardiovascular Diseases, Thalasemia, Sickle Cell Anemia, Multiple Myeloma, Eclampsia etc using appropriate Biochemical Techniques and earned more than 100 publications in indexed journals to his credit. He Supervised many ‘Thesis’ during his stay at this University, Dr Majhi is  an enthusiastic teacher with his comprehensive and boundless ‘Teaching Skills’ who can reach out to even the last student in the class. He was voted ‘Best Teacher’ in an opinion poll by the students multiple times during his stay at BPKIHS.

In May 2014, Dr Majhi joined Xavier University School of Medicine as a Professor of Biochemistry to teach students of MD Program and continued to teach at this university till March 2022. During his stay, he aligned the Biochemistry Course with the USMLE content that helped the students to grasp the subject materials better, He conducted ‘Laboratory Based’ Research’ with students and published them in reputed journals. From mid of 2018, he was inducted to the post of Dean of Basic Sciences at this university. During his stay at Xavier University, the university achieved full accreditation by Accreditation Commission of College of Medicine (ACCM) and approval by New York State Education Department (NYSED) and are considered major achievements for the operation of the university.

Dr. R. Kolachalam is a General Surgeon at Providence Hospitals, Detroit Michigan.  He finished his General Surgery Residency at Providence Hospitals, Detroit and then completed a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery.  He has been in Private practice since 1995.

As a core part of the teaching Faculty at the General Surgery residency at Providence Hospital he is actively involved in Resident, and Medical school training and research.  He is also a Professor of Surgery at Michigan State University.

He was the Section Chief of General Surgery for 4 years in Administrative capacity and has served many committees in the Hospital.

As a Surgeon, his focus is on Minimally invasive General Surgery that includes Robotic Surgery.  He is focused on Minimally invasive Foregut Surgery including Hiatal Hernia and Achalasia. His other main focus is Endocrine Surgery.  He does high volume Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery.

He has been named in the ‘Top Docs’ list on Detroit Hour magazine several times. He is well published, with several Text Book chapters, National presentations, peer reviewed Publications. Currently he is in active Surgical practice and performs over 700 cases per year, but teaching Medical Students, and Residents remains his passion.

Lisa brings a marketing and business background to the students and faculty of Bay University, and is charged with overseeing the recruiting and admissions process. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Michigan with a focus on International Relations and Applied Economics.

She also serves as a Managing Director at the Harris Poll and collaborates with academic, automotive, IT, and healthcare stakeholders to formulate marketing growth strategies. She has managed several hundred research and consulting projects, including brand and marketing strategy; customer research; sales performance and forecasting; competitor intelligence; and is a thought leader on the future of society.

Lisa was previously Chief Marketing Officer at MarketsandMarkets, a Pune-based market research firm. She also worked for Frost & Sullivan, General Motors in North America, Asia and Europe and J.D. Power and Associates.

Additionally, he has been  well versed with Hospital Management and  Medicolegal issues in Healthcare, training  through Indian Institute of Management.

Dr Gaekwad, has large experiences and accomplishments in various capacities in the field of medicine over the last 25 years. He has administrative experience in the corporate healthcare field involving Hospitals, Clinics, Pharmacies and Projects both in India and Abroad in the Gulf region, with good outcomes in medical, nonmedical, and financial health of the organization.

He has Conceptualized, commissioned and successfully managed two large hospitals, with good turnover in line with the industry standards, having admirable bottom lines.

He has also successfully completed accreditations and  reaccreditations by ISO, NABL & NABH, and other quality standards and started educational courses like Diplomate of National Board (DNB) affiliated to the National Board of India.

Dr. Kun Zhong has been appointed as an Associate Professor of Pathology at Bay University. He is an active physician and researcher in the field of Stem Cell Research & Regenerative Medicine and currently involved with American Center of Stem Cell Research & Regenerative Medicine. He has earned his Pathology degree from Department of Pathology Hebei Provincial Academy of Medical Sciences Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, P.R. China  and Ph.D.  from Department of Pathology, Wayne State University, Detroit, MI. Beside his ambitious stem cell research work, he also contributes through his services as attending Pathologist, Chief Medical Officer, Civil Surgeon and attending Physician at various sites in the US. He is an excellent visionary and strategist in his field, who has demonstrated a track record of fostering collaboration successfully, American Center of Stem Cell Research & Regenerative Medicine with Hebei University, China is an example !

Dr. Zhong is American Board-Certified Internist and  Chairman of Regenerative Medicine Research Review Board (IRB). He is also Founder /President of  American Center of Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicine  at  Detroit. Dr. Dwight D. Encinas has joined the Bay University School of Medicine as an Associate Professor of Basic Medical Sciences.  In addition to Microbiology, his other teaching interests are in Medical Ethics and Faculty Development.

He received his undergraduate education with a pre-medical degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at the Ateneo de Manila University and his Medical Degree from Manila Central University.

After completing his Internship at the Veterans Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines, he did another year of Internship at Henry Ford Hospital where he later completed his residency with the Department of Family Medicine, Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan.

As a young House Officer, he has demonstrated his passion for medical student teaching and was awarded an Excellence in Teaching and Service to the University Community, Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Services, Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan and a House Officer Award in Teaching Excellence in Student Medical Education presented by the University of Michigan’s medical students rotating at Henry Ford Hospital.

And while at Henry Ford Health System he had teaching responsibilities throughout his employment involving learners at multiple levels, including medical students and residents in training.  His then Chair at the Department of Medicine described Dr. Encinas’ teaching role as, “Besides performing as a splendid clinical role model, he demonstrated an innate understanding of various learning styles and a capacity to adapt his teaching methods to the specific needs of his learners, both individually and in groups.”  His Chair, now Chair Emeritus added, “He was respected for his didactic skills as well as his clinical instruction during the process of care.”

He has taught basic science, clinical knowledge and included training in care processes such as relationship management and medical ethics.

Dr. Encinas now actively practices medicine as a primary care and home visiting physician in Michigan.
